Public Media Company has a board of 9 inspired and devoted public media leaders, who meet twice a year in person to help chart our course in making public media more dynamic and sustainable. At our board meeting on May 5th, Public Media Company went back to its roots in Boulder, Colorado to celebrate our 19-year history and the contributions of Public Media Company Co-Founder Marc Hand and long-time managing director Erik Langner, who are transitioning to head up the Public Media Venture Group and a new public benefit corporation, respectively.
The evening took place in the Grand Assembly Hall at Chautauqua Park and was hosted by Board Chair Teresa Bryce Bazemore, Public Media Company Co-Founder and Board member Susan Harmon, and Interim President Erin Moran. Bruce Theriault, former SVP of Journalism at CPB, who was at Public Media Company in its early years, and former Public Media Company Managing Director Dennis Hamilton joined the celebration. Colorado Public Radio’s President Stewart Vanderwilt and Jenny Gentry, Senior Vice President, Finance & Administration, attended the festivities in recognition of the role that Public Media Company played in building up the Colorado Public Radio network and helping stations across the country in all 50 states become stronger and more impactful in their communities. In addition to Erin Moran, Managing Director Alison Scholly and Directors Evran Kavlak and Stephen Holmes, as well as Accounting and Operations Manager Terri Olsen, from the staff were on hand to celebrate Public Media Company’s record of success.
It was a truly delightful spring evening, and we thank all of the Public Media Company clients, supporters and others who help Public Media Company continue to innovate and serve stations at a time when strong, independent local media is sorely needed.
