Key Dates

July 1: Schedule 349 available for data entry in the FCC’s Licensing Management System (LMS); you can begin preparing your application now.
July 10: Filing freeze begins. The FCC will stop accepting minor modification applications for FM translator and FM booster stations in both reserved and non-reserved bands.
August 11: Window opens at 12:01 a.m. ET.
August 25: Window closes at 6:00 p.m. ET.

What This Means for Your Station

The window is relatively short and arrives soon. Engineering studies, frequency coordination, and application preparation take time, so you need to start right away. The July 10 freeze is also important; any minor modification you've been planning for an existing translator needs to be filed within the next three weeks, or it will wait until after the window closes.
