Nevada Public Radio recently completed the acquisition of KJIV 89.1 FM in Reno, Nevada, a move that extends their public radio service into a growing and vibrant market. In addition to representing Nevada Public Radio throughout the process, Public Media Company also prepared the business model and financial analysis to test the viability of the purchasing a Reno-based station and launching a “music discovery” (i.e. Triple A) format. The seller announced the transfer of the radio station with this high praise: “When considering the sale of KJIV 89.1 FM, our top priority was to ensure the station’s license would ultimately be transferred to an impartial and trustworthy organization. Nevada Public Radio is just that – an independent, not-for-profit, public broadcasting organization that has served communities throughout Nevada for more than 40 years.”
